Engineering solutions provider  MECAD is expected to once again attend the KwaZulu-Natal Industrial Technology Exhibition (KITE) to be hosted at the Durban Exhibition Centre from July 18 to 20.

Established in 1986, MECAD has cemented itself as a trusted and leading brand which has consistently maintained the leading position in providing computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), finite element analysis, and computer aided engineering (CAE) services.

MECAD organisational development manager Wessel van Heerden says the company is proud to have served the engineering community for over 35 years.

“Our success stems from our unwavering commitment to providing exceptional engineering solutions and building long-lasting partnerships with our clients. We strive to stay ahead of the curve, continually expanding our knowledge and embracing the latest technologies to deliver innovative and efficient solutions.”

In addition to its product and service offering, the company introduced the distribution of the SOLIDWORKS software, an industry-leading CAD and CAE software used by millions of engineers worldwide.

SOLIDWORKS has been the trusted industry standard in design and engineering for over 25 years. The easy-to-use three-dimensional (3D) design and product development solution enables engineers to transform their ideas into final product designs.

SOLIDWORKS users can also expect a new feature in July called SOLIDWORKS Cloud Services. This functionality will aid engineering and design teams in solving modern challenges and minimising mundane tasks by providing tools that improve collaboration, cloud data management and design sharing.

All new purchases of the SOLIDWORKS CAD will include cloud services as part of the subscription, while existing licences will have the option to upgrade for a nominal fee. These new services will all work by connecting SOLIDWORKS seamlessly to the 3D Experience Platform, opening the door to even more powerful tools for formal data management, advanced simulation, freeform modelling, marketing and more.

MECAD offers a variety of software and consulting services, such as conceptual design, product data management design analysis, machining, design collaboration and drafting, within the manufacturing and engineering sector.

It prides itself in being an expert in cutting-edge tools, such as 3D experience, Robotmaster (an offline robot programming and robot simulation software), SigmaNEST (an advanced nesting solution offering a wide range of customisable, modular features to get the most out manufacturing operations) and Mastercam (a suite of CAD and CAM software), which empower engineers, designers and manufacturers to unleash their creativity, streamline workflows and achieve unparalleled productivity.

MECAD’s client-centric approach, which caters to unique client needs, customising each solution to provide effective results, is the reason behind its “high customer satisfaction”.

The company works with a team of qualified and experienced professionals who guide clients through the software selection process, implementation, training and ongoing support, ensuring optimal results and maximising the value of their investment.
