Makhura leads delegation to Namibia International Investment Conference
Gauteng Premier David Makhura is leading a provincial delegation comprising senior officials and businesspeople to the 2016 Namibia International Investment Conference, to be held in Windhoek on November 8 and 9.
Makhura will visit industrial parks, uranium mines and water reclamation plants in Namibia as the conference’s official programme gets under way.
"The binational agreements between our national governments create huge opportunities for business-to-business partnerships as well as collaboration between sister cities and regional governments," he says.
Makhura adds that the Gauteng provincial government is ready to play its collaborative role under the guidance of the national Cabinet.
"Gauteng is open for business. Our businesses and firms have capabilities and the resources to contribute to the industrialisation of Namibia, the Southern African Development Community and the continent," he says.
In addition, Gauteng is working with the South African Capital Equipment Export Council to strengthen intra-African trade.
