Boksburg-based Victor Industrial Equipment (VIE)  has been supplying electrical connectors for underground and open-pit mining ever since its foundation in 1979. VIE is also a distributor for LED lighting solutions company x-Glo in South Africa.

The LED light strip designed by x-Glo has been developed to be robust in its design and highly suitable for use in harsh industrial environments, like mining. The robust design enables the light strip to have very high tensile and point load strength. The LED light strip range is manufactured with only the best available high-quality LED’s that provide optimum white light within the 6 500-light spectrum at the highest possible Lumen level per meter per Watt. Various colours are available.

Due to the low voltage, the LED strip can be energized 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, and the high-grade LED also enables the light strip to achieve the best possible lifespan.  

x-Glo strip lighting is safe, cost-effective, waterproof, fire-retardant, maintenance-free, easy to install, energy-efficient, impact and shock resistant, ultra-flexible, and long lasting which allows it to achieve significant electricity cost savings.   

VIE also manufactures an approved IS (IP65) portable battery powered LED strip, the unit consists of a printed circuit board that houses 60 SMD LED’s per meter to form a 5 m long fully encapsulated strip. The battery and protection PCB is housed inside a fully encapsulated enclosure. The enclosure has two connection facilities, one on either side of the battery – one connection for the charger and one for the LED strip. The unit can also be equipped with a monoscopic or telescopic light attachment.
