Project Description
Llano de Llampos is expected to be the largest solar PV power plant in Latin America and one of the largest in the world.

The proposed project involves the installation of a 100 MW solar PV plant on a 306 ha site in the Atacama desert. The PV modules will convert sunlight to direct current (dc) electricity. The dc power will be sent to an inverter to convert the dc power to alternate current power, which will be fed into the Sistema Interconectado Central.

The project is estimated at $267-million.

The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2013.
