Liviero secures R280m in civils contracts
Multidisciplinary construction group Liviero Civils on Tuesday announced that it had secured two new civil engineering contracts valued at over R280-million.
The group’s current works contract on the Ekurhuleni Trunk Routes Project had been extended until 2016, therefore, it would continue the upgrade of the trunk route between Thembisa and Kempton Park.
The additional works under the ‘Works Package 2’ joint venture contract with black economic-empowerment partner Moseme Road Construction would bring the overall contract value to more than R400-million, said Liviero group CEO Neil Cloete.
Liviero Civils, in conjunction with Gorogang Plant Hire, would also be responsible for the civil works on the Xhora water supply project, near Elliotdale – the company’s first venture in the Eastern Cape.
The scope of Liviero’s work on the project included the construction of a diversion tunnel to the foot of the dam wall, a concrete spillway and related works, 1 200 000 l concrete reservoir, 600 000 l concrete reservoir and a concrete access road.
