BEKA Schréder is proud to have supplied the lighting solution for one of the new warehouses situated at the Dube TradePort close to Durban, South Africa.

Dube TradePort is a Special Economic Zone and comprises a precinct purpose-planned to drive industrial and commercial development in South Africa through the promotion and attraction of both domestic and foreign direct investment to this part of KwaZulu-Natal. It is a world-class commercial and light industrial precinct offering globally integrated logistics and manufacturing infrastructure and support for a range of airport-related activities, including cargo operations, warehousing, agricultural growing, processing and cold storage, as well as commercial real-estate for office, retail and hospitality.

BEKA Schréder has supplied most of the lighting products installed in one of the newest warehouses at the Dube TradePort, all of which have been designed and manufactured in South Africa.

Warehouse interior

The ECOBAY and LEDBAY LED low- and highbays were installed inside the warehouse. These luminaires are highly efficient and energy saving, and because of their long lifetime and low maintenance requirement, there is no lamp replacement needed for more than 10 years. The LEDBAY can be used in hazardous environments where a Zone 2 or 21/22 rated luminaire is required. Furthermore, the LEDBAY is available with a battery backup version, to be used in emergency situations.

SERIES 30 round LED bulkheads illuminate staircases and passageways, and the emergency version ensures that light is still available even if the power goes off. The SERIES 30 uses high-quality materials to ensure a high ingress protection and non-discolouring diffuser. This, together with the long lifetime of the LEDs, and an easy installation procedure, makes the SERIES 30 the bulkhead of choice.

Warehouse exterior

Various products have been installed outside the warehouse to ensure that the area is well illuminated to provide a sense of safety and wellbeing.

LEDLUME 1 luminaires have been installed on the warehouse walls to provide area lighting. The LEDLUME range offers optimised photometrical performance with a minimum total cost of ownership. It provides customers with the ideal tool to generate energy savings, improve lighting levels and reduce maintenance costs. The great variety of high-performance optics optimises the photometric distribution for each specific application to achieve minimum energy consumption.

The ELLEGA has been installed along the perimeter, providing security lighting. The ELLEGA, with its simple but very elegant linear design, provides a versatile range of luminaires to light diverse landscapes. The flexibility of the photometric engine provides multiple lighting distributions to adapt to the diverse needs of contemporary lighting. The ELLEGA luminaire is available in a single or double configuration at various heights. The winning combination of performance, design and flexibility enables the ELLEGA range to illuminate streets, residential areas, parks, bicycle and pedestrian paths with a better quality of light, to generate energy savings and to reduce the ecological footprint with a perfect aesthetic integration into the environment.

SERIES 40 rectangular LED bulkheads have been installed along the exterior of the buildings. It is an ideal solution to beautify buildings and its surrounds to provide general area lighting for residential or commercial developments, retail areas, shopping malls and public buildings. The optional battery back-up version is the perfect solution for loadshedding. It provides four hours of back up lighting, and utilizes a fast-charging inverter, hence it charges up in time for the next loadshedding cycle.

Local manufacturer

BEKA Schréder develops and manufactures energy-efficient LED lighting products in South Africa, designed and suitable for local conditions.

We are very proud to be associated with DNA Consulting Engineers & Project Managers, and RWK Electrical Contracting in providing a successful LED lighting solution for this project.
