Designer and manufacturer of light-emitting diode (LED) lighting solutions LEDWise is taking advantage of the definite trend towards using linear LEDs in industrial and commercial applications by launching its ACE continuous linear light.

LEDWise MD Bruce Scott says this light – ideal for use in commercial, retail and industrial applications – is available in Aisle Symmetric, Oval, 60º and 90º beam angles and a range of power levels to suit various mounting heights and applications. It can be clipped onto a P2000 trunking fixture or the light can be surface-mounted, making it ideal for new or retrofit applications.

“Osram LEDs and an advanced lens-design of the ACE light ensures lower glare and creates an aesthetically pleasing continuous band of light while providing a comfortable level of lighting.”

He adds that it produces more than 110 lumens for every watt at system level, making it energy efficient. The light is supplied in 1.7 m lengths, which can be plugged together, saving installation time and cost.

Moreover, Scott notes that the uncertain economic climate in South Africa over the past 12 months has resulted in many capital projects or expansion projects, which require LED installation, having been delayed or cancelled.

“Consequently, LEDWise and other companies in the lighting industry may feel the knock-on effects of that this year. However, this will hopefully take a turn for the better soon, with the governing party’s new leadership appointment. So far, the change in leadership promises more economic stability and investment going forward, which also stimulates the lighting industry.”

All Applications
For offices, hospitals and schools, LEDWise’s range of ceiling, module, linear and track lights are ideal for work areas, reception areas, meeting rooms, boardrooms, breakout areas, lifts and passages.

This range of lights is also suitable for hotels, shopping centres and restaurants, in rooms, bathrooms, passages, spas and lounges. Additionally, the company offers light lines for cove lighting and bulkhead illumination requirements.

For retail stores and shopping centres, LEDWise lights are ideal for illuminating merchandise, aisles, displays, shelves and points of sale. “With no harmful rays, such as ultraviolet or infrared, the lights can be used alongside pharmaceuticals, food and rubber,” Scott points out.

LEDWise’s range of linear lights is especially suited to parking garages, with various dimming options, including passive infrared sensor switching and built-in emergency gear.

Further, he mentions that LEDWise also supplies high bay lights, which are ideal for industrial applications such as warehousing, factories, storage facilities and cold-storage rooms. The company’s range of canopy lights is used by a number of petrol companies for their forecourt illumination.
