Telecommunications group Telkom on Tuesday reported that Lazarus Zim was retiring as chairperson and director in October.

Zim, who was appointed as chairperson in February 2011, was initially expected to serve until August 2013, after his reappointment in February this year.

The Telkom board wished him well in the future and thanked him for his contribution to the group.
