FRIGAIR Expo  (0.07 MB)

Company Announcement- Energy-efficient designs and other technology innovations will be showcased at this year’s FRIGAIR Expo 2015, taking place 3-5 June at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand. Showcasing the crucial role played by the heating, energy, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HEVAC&R) industry and the rapidly developing technology in eco-friendly efficiency, the FRIGAIR exhibition will bring manufacturers together with industry role-players from across the continent (and even beyond).

A large variety of products will be on display at FRIGAIR Expo 2015, enabling industry professionals to keep abreast of the latest developments in the market. As an industry that impacts on every aspect of life, the exhibition will focus on addressing solutions in mining, construction, food, packaging, storage, retail, manufacturing, and even distribution. Whether it is heating, cooling, air movement, or freezing, the science behind these technologies has a direct effect on health, safety, and the environment. From engineers to contractors and even property owners – this show will offer all HEVAC&R role-players the opportunity to experience the latest and greatest the market has to offer.

At this year’s FRIGAIR Expo, Danfoss will place its emphasis on solutions to bring down energy consumption. The new range will offer from industrial refrigeration valves and total store management solutions for the food retail industry, to the latest in commercial compressors technology and online tools. Visitors will also get the chance to know more about Danfoss’ VLT® drives and heating solutions and technologies. All the new products and technologies have one thing in common, their focus on sustainability and how to build a better tomorrow.

Commercial Refrigerator Services will be revealing the future of CO2-based HEVAC&R technology with the launch of the latest CO2 heat pumps (the first locally manufactured range in South Africa) and the new CO2 refrigeration pack range – both which will be on display at the show. “We are using the FRIGAIR Expo as an opportunity to launch new products, to promote our capability in the design of turnkey projects and our capacity to design and manufacture electrical panels for clients,” says Stephen Spence of Commercial Refrigerator Services. Bluchem will be launching its water-based, high performance coating (the only coating of its kind currently in South Africa) and promoting its ability to rejuvenate partially-corroded air conditioners to extend its lifespan. There will be an HVAC corrosion consultant on the Bluchem stand from Europe to answer any questions.

Armour Aluminium Tubing will be featured on the Armour Africa stand, in addition to a range of welding/braze free pipe connectors and tools, enabling the joining of aluminium to aluminium, copper to aluminium, aluminium to steel, or copper to steel. This leads to savings in time, effort and money. Ryan Staffen of Armour Aluminium Tubing says that they will have brand new pipe connecting methods and products displayed on their stand which will make connecting of all piping quicker, safer, easier and cheaper. There will be live demonstrations, interactive product displays, technical information, as well as take-home information for visitors.

Launching three new product ranges at FRIGAIR Expo 2015, Actom Mechanical Equipment will be providing customers with a broader base of suppliers to choose from and will be offering advice from its years of ventilation experience and expertise.

The focus for Maxiflex will be the Crawford Docking Solution range of products, which includes the Crawford Dock Leveller and Overhead Sectional Door. There will be a working dock leveler and door on display at the Maxiflex stand. “The Crawford 6010S Swingdock is a swing lip dock leveler used for general applications,” explains Marloes Joseph of Maxiflex. “The swing lip of this dock leveler safely bridges the gap between the ramp and the vehicle bed connecting the building and the vehicle. The result is highest safety of transfer of goods, avoiding personal injuries or damages to the equipment.”

Hennie Verster, Africa Sales Manager for Seeley International, invites visitors to the Seeley stand to see and experience the latest technology in cooling with the new Dew Point Cooler and the new Icon evaporative cooler, which offers 20% more cooling thanks to a new controller. “We will have both units working on the stand, demonstrating the impressive temperature reductions we can achieve,” he says. “It will be an opportunity to see and experience new technology that will make all the difference to the cooling industry and reduce the electricity demand air conditioning puts on Eskom.”

Concept Clean Africa will be launching and displaying its Clenair odour neutralising product range brought in from the States. Coloil will be showcasing a comprehensive product range and will have heat exchanger design software on display. Visitors will be able to see a range of air-cool conditioners and a Phoenix Racks three-compressor rack on the Eurocool stand, as well as a live demonstration of a Sauermann water pump – wall-mounted to enable ease of viewing of the pumps capabilities.

But FRIGAIR Expo 2015 is much more than just an exhibition. For the first time, four ASHRAE short courses will be presented by international ASHRAE-approved speakers during the show. The following short courses are currently scheduled (subject to change): Designing high-performance healthcare HVAC systems (fully booked); IAQ best practice for design, construction, and commissioning (fully booked); Energy management: best practices; and, Design of commercial ground source heat pumps. These short courses have been arranged in consultation with the South African Institute of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (SAIRAC).

These four ASHRAE short courses will now be free thanks to the show organisers incurring the costs themselves for the benefit of the industry and their ongoing commitment to education. FRIGAIR recognised the value of getting involved and sponsoring these world-class courses to ensure that the country’s HEVAC&R engineers can better themselves and the industry as a whole.

“It is important to us to support industry in any way possible,” said Dale Macnamara, FRIGAIR Expo 2015 exhibition manager. “And working closely with ASHRAE to further ongoing education makes a lot of sense.” FRIGAIR Expo 2015 is expected to attract more than 3 500 visitors this year. Over 120 exhibitors will be displaying the latest products, equipment, and services the HEVAC&R industry has to offer. The FRIGAIR Expo takes place every three years and is organised in partnership with SAIRAC. It is also endorsed by various industry bodies, including SARACCA, SAASA, SAFA, SASVA, RAMSA, and SARDA.
