Manufacturer of pumps, valves and related systems KSB, which was established in South Africa in 1959, provides systems for a wide range of markets, including water, sewage, the industrial sector, which includes chemicals, petrochemicals and steel, as well as the mining, energy and building services industries.

The company’s fluid systems division also offers turnkey solutions for both mechanical and electrical scopes of water and waste pumping stations. KSB, which has a manufacturing and sales facility located in Activia Park, in Germiston, also has eight sales and service centres in Cape Town, Durban, Nelspruit, Port Elizabeth, Secunda, Vereeniging, Richards Bay and Rustenburg.

Since 2010, KSB’s resident office in Accra, Ghana, for West Africa is limited to the sub-Saharan Africa headquarters in South Africa. A second resident office opened in 2011 in Nairobi, Kenya, to cover East/Central Africa. The company employs 500 people and has a local site area of 38 383m2, of which 36 740m2 is under cover.

The site area is where the majority of KSB’s products are manufactured under licence to principals based in Germany and the US. KSB Pumps owns 85% minus one share, while Compo Physic Trade owns 15% plus one share of the company. KSB’s established service division offers customers a comprehensive after-sales service, including installation and commissioning, inspection, repairs and maintenance.
