The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) will embark on a road resurfacing programme, which will focus on deep patching on the M1 North Smit street offramp, in Braamfontein.

The closure will start on January 22 and end on January 28.

Work is scheduled to take place from 09:30 to 15:00 from January 22 to January 24, and again on January 27 and 28.

On January 25 and 26, work will be done between 09:30 and 16:00.

The JRA advised that alternative offramps for motorists include the Carr street offramp, just before the Smit street offramp; the Empire road offramp, just after the Smit street offramp; and the Jan Smuts avenue offramp, just after the Empire road offramp.
