The National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (Naamsa) has announced the event dates of the 2015 Johannesburg International Motor Show (JIMS).

The event will take place from October 14 to October 25, 2015, at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec.

The show will open to the media on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, for the first of two dedicated media days.

Attendance on October 14 and 15 will be limited to the media and preview guests.

The public will be able to visit the show from Friday, October 16, to Sunday, October 25, 2015.

JIMS is Africa's largest and most comprehensive automotive industry event, with a show-floor encompassing passenger cars, leisure vehicles, exotic marquees, parts and accessories and automotive lifestyle products.

The event also incorporates the Johannesburg Truck and Bus Show, which focuses on the commercial vehicle sector. This show features exhibits of trucks, buses, trailers, motor-body builders, and parts and services aimed at the commercial vehicle market.

The biennial JIMS is recognised as one of the top ten motor shows in the world, says Naamsa, and is inscribed in the International Organisation of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers’ international motor show calendar.

The call for JIMS exhibitors kicks off on August 1, 2014. Automotive companies interested in participating can download booking forms from www.jhbmotorshow.co.za.

The 2013 edition of the motor show attracted more than 240 000 visitors.
