Isover launches QTech™, the light mineral wool for medium temperature industrial applications

Isover now offers a comprehensive range of mineral wool and stone wool insulation products that provide thermal, acoustic and fire resistance in a wide variety of industry applications as well as heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and original equipment manufacturers (OEM). The company is excited to announce the launch of its latest innovation in insulation technology, QTech™, the light mineral wool for medium temperature applications ≤ 300 °C.

With QTech™, we have taken this commitment to a new level in line with our multi material-market approach aimed at meeting all our customers’ industrial and technical insulation requirements for medium temperature applications. 

In an era of constant innovation and heightened environmental consciousness, industries across the globe are searching for efficient and sustainable solutions. QTech™ is manufactured locally from non-combustible mineral wool and bonded with an inert thermosetting resin to form a strong resilient product. It has a Zero Ozone Depleting Potential and no CFC’s or HCFC’s are produced in the production process. 

Excellent Thermal Insulation

In industrial environments, safety and efficiency are paramount. Uninsulated or inadequately insulated equipment leads to wasteful energy loss, increased operating costs, and compromised process stability. QTech™ achieves excellent thermal conductivity (K-values) and is designed to excel in medium temperature applications. Additionally, QTech™ is totally shot free compared with traditional stonewool products that may have a shot content of 30% to 40%, thus providing outstanding resistance to heat transfer (no thermal bridging), no potential for shot settling over time and compromising thermal performance and no unnecessary additional weight due to the presence of shot content. Process stability due to optimised energy efficiency results in reduced downtime and therefore reduced maintenance costs. 

Unique Lightness and Comfortable Installation 

Installation and compatibility are critical factors when choosing insulation solutions. Owing to the lightweight nature of QTech™, handling is considerably improved which assists in faster installation. This reduction in weight makes a significant difference on site for the installer and assists in improving the quality of the installation.  QTech™ products are far less dusty which ensures a more comfortable and safe installation. 

Outstanding Flexibility

QTech™ products are highly pliable and can be bent around odd shapes without edge breaks, which prevents thermal bridging and guarantees an improved performance of the complete insulation system without additional effort. 

Non-Combustible

Safety and environmental responsibility are paramount considerations in today’s industries. QTech™ is non-combustible and does not contribute to the spread of flames which provides an added layer of protection for industrial applications as well as HVAC and OEM applications. Additionally, QTech™ is manufactured using an eco-friendly process and naturally occurring raw materials, making it a sustainable choice for businesses committed to reducing their environmental footprint. 

Maximum Compression Packing

The resilient nature of the QTech™ fibers allows the products to be compressed for packaging and then recover to its original thickness when unpacked making it easier and cost effective to transport and store. The risk of damage to the QTech™ product range when stored and transported is greatly reduced.

QTech™ has acoustic insulation capabilities that make it a value adding choice for noise reduction in industrial and manufacturing environments where acoustic qualities are specified.
