Open-access journal publishing group India OMICS will host the International Conference on Sustainable Civil Engineering in Cape Town from June 20 to 22.

The conference will focus on the application of a sustainability concept when designing a structure and when constructing and maintaining civil engineering structures. The 2016 conference aims to provide a platform for researchers, architects, engineers and scientists to discuss ideas and innovations in the field. Highlights will include design and the materials used in civil engineering, as well as innovations in computing in civil engineering.
This is the first time OMICS will host a conference on engineering and that one of its “conference series” will take place in Africa.

“This is the best opportunity to reach the largest assembly of participants from the global civil engineering industries,” says OMICS programme manager Rachel Rose.

Spending in the construction industry worldwide is projected to exceed $1.07-trillion in 2016, she points out, adding that a growing population means constantly improving and maintaining existing infrastructure, as well as constructing new infrastructure. This, in turn, creates a market for big conferences such as the International Conference on Sustainable Civil Engineering 2016.

Tickets for the three-day event will cost between R9 890 and R13 192 for each person, depending on the date on which they were bought. Tickets include access to all the sessions, a handbook and conference kit, lunch for the three days and a certificate of attendance.
