We are explicitly looking for someone with High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) experience for this role.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering -  (Heavy Current) or Power Systems Engineering.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Major grid experience utilising DC.
  • Experience in the interface with renewables is highly advantageous!

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

This role would require you to take the lead in designing and developing high-voltage direct current (HVDC) grid systems for interconnector projects. You would need to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to define project requirements and ensure alignment with technical specifications.

Conducting feasibility studies and assessing technical risks associated with grid design and integration would be crucial aspects of this role. Additionally, you would oversee the execution of grid design projects, ensuring adherence to quality, budget, and timeline requirements.

Staying updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in HVDC grid design and integration would be essential to succeeding in this role.

 

SKILLS

  • Advanced HVDC grid design expertise
  • Proficient in grid design software (PSCAD, ETAP, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, with a focus on power systems and grid infrastructure.
  • Skilled at solving complex technical grid problems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledgeable about industry standards and regulations
