INDUTEC  (0.06 MB)

Company Announcement - With a 16% jump in visitors from 28 countries, the second SA Industry and Technology Fair (INDUTEC) held at Gallagher Convention Centre in May  produced excellent results for exhibitors and visitors. The three-day, 12-shows-in-one industrial expo proved to be the ideal platform for product exposure, business networking and deal-making. “INDUTEC 2015 was truly an international event, with 260 exhibitors from 15 countries including China, the Czech Republic, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and the United Kingdom,” says show organiser John Thomson of Exhibition Management Services. “Visitors arrived from 28 countries – 10 of these from Africa – to do business at INDUTEC.”

Waste and Recycling from Italy

Rimini Fiera, organisers of the Ecomondo Exhibition in Italy, hosted three workshops on waste and recycling as part of Waste and Recycling Africa, one of the components of INDUTEC . “We were surprised at the huge interest in the workshops as over 40 people attended on the first day,” said Alessandra Astolfi, Project Manager of Ecomondo. “It was very encouraging to see people stay for the entire two-hour workshop and the question-and-answer session.”

The Resolution Circle, a small business incubation hub, was another delighted exhibitor at INDUTEC. “The show was a great fit for us as our core focus is the manufacturing sector,” said Gideon Potgieter, the company’s representative. “We secured over 80 high-quality leads from our presence at the show. INDUTEC definitely worked for us!” “INDUTEC is all about networking and creating business links – and the show definitely did that for us,” commented John McMenamin, a sales representative for YouFumi Valve and Pipe Company. The high-tech company specialises in manufacturing corrosive resistant valves, pipes and fittings.

Turkish Pumps on Demand

Turkish pump manufacturer Maxisu had great feedback on its line of submersible pumps. “We were happy to be in South Africa and exhibit at this event, and it was great to see so many visitors interested in our products. We will definitely come again,” says Mustafa Yarcan, Sales Manager at Maxisu.

Information for Engineers

Bateman Watling and Associates, an information-based company, provides online knowledge databases to engineers on an annual subscription basis.  “We had a great response from visitors and exhibitors,” said Sales Executive Justin Hoffman. “To actually be able to demonstrate our information services to potential customers face-to-face was very  good exposure for us. We also had the chance to speak to companies we’ve been trying to get on board before; they did not really understand the product we were offering. INDUTEC gave us access to a wider client base and we will definitely exhibit at the next show,” concluded Hoffman.

Augment Your Reality

Augmented Reality specialist Intellilab showed visitors and exhibitors how they can use augmented reality in their business. “We had a great response, especially from engineering companies from across the country, and had a large amount of people who visited our stand,” said Dumisane Gumbi, a developer at Intellilab. “We had interest from different companies in different industries wanting to know how augmented reality can apply to their business. INDUTEC allowed us to engage with potential clients and show them what we do.”

Prince Phaka, a Director at Advanced Solar Construction and Suppliers was delighted with the exposure at the show. “The show has been great! We got 80 leads from the first two days of the event and now we just need to convert them into sales!”  The four year old company is a distributor of advanced renewable energy technology designed to reduce electricity costs for home owners, private businesses and local municipalities. “I believe INDUTEC’s 12-show multi-sector format can play a constructive role in the ongoing implementation of the National Development Plan, expanding the country’s infrastructure, boosting South African industry and creating jobs into the future,” concluded Thomson.
