Imperial Armour, a Personal protective equipment company has opened its third office, in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The companies Head office is situated in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal with an international branch based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Louisa Garland-Els, the Managing Director of Imperial Armour formally opened the new office which is located in Honeydew on the 30th of July 2014. The Johannesburg branch is able to offer readily available body armour as well as necessary accessories, such as helmets, plates etc.

“2014 is looking to be a very exciting year,” Garland-Els said, with 30% growth in turnover this year. Four months into its financial year, Imperial Armour already has the same turnover as it had for the whole of last year.” The personal protection industry is certainly challenging but with a dedicated team both in Durban, Dubai and Joburg, it certainly ensures that Imperial Armour is focused to achieve expectations."

Imperial Armour believes the UAE is a focus point, especially as there is turbulence in many of the countries in the region. At present, in the UAE, Imperial Armour is serving the Police and GHQ armed forces. By establishing offices in Dubai, the company is able to target many more areas such as special operations, fire and rescue services as well as oil companies.

Garland-Els said that Imperial Armour had received its largest order to date, from the United Arab Emirates armed forces, worth R17 million. This contract has come from the Dubai office and includes de-mining equipment, de-mining aprons and other items. Imperial Armour continuously works on in-house research and development, international testing and innovative solutions. They are also expanding their factory and are currently busy developing a new product however are unable to disclose as of yet, what that product is. The company will be exhibiting at Africa Aerospace and Defence 2014 in September (Hall 4, stand 4B-14) and will also be travelling to Qatar for the Milipol Qatar exhibition in October.
