“Our new Mshiniwami Artisan Academy, will train a 1000 learner welders, 450 pipe fitters and 50 boiler makers annually.  The success of our training is evident in the fact that 96% of our graduates are currently employed in their trade, with the rest having taken up supervisory positions.  We have created approximately 1500 new jobs in the past 3 years.  Our commitment to skills development and empowerment is illustrated by our current LEVEL 2 BBBEE certification.”

Hydra-Arc has won various international quality awards throughout the world. Those ranging from Gold, Diamond and Platinum in the periods between December 2013 and June 2015.

Hydra Arc is currently ISO 9001-2008 registered, SABS APPROVED.

In safety Hydra Arc has maintained an IRCA 5 Star Health, Safety and environmental rating for the past 8 years, and previously held the NOSA equivalent for 12 years.  Extensive equipment stores coupled with an ability to mobilise large numbers of artisans enables Hydra Arc to rapidly respond to its customers’ requirements. Maswanganyi explains: “Our welding, steel fabrication and construction stores are unrivalled in South Africa, and this enables us to deploy or replace machinery and equipment within a couple of hours.  In addition we maintain high levels of consumables stock to ensure that no job or project is ever delayed.”

The Sky Hill Workshop Complex (featured on the next page of this newspaper) is wholly owned within the Hydra Arc group, and provides Hydra Arc with direct access to one of the largest, best equipped, steel fabrication, pressure vessel and piping workshops in the world.
