JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Ron Holding will retire as CEO of JSE-listed gold miner Pan African Resources, effective March 1.

FD Cobus Loots, who has been a Pan African director since 2009, would succeed Holding as CEO, the company reported on Thursday.

Pan African added that the outgoing CEO had agreed to serve as a consultant to Pan African for a minimum period of one year.

“The group and board of directors wish to thank Ron for his dedication during his tenure as CEO, and we look forward to his continued involvement,” commented chairperson Keith Spencer.

He added that Loots’ appointment as CEO secured the long-term stability and continuity of the company’s executive management. “Cobus is very familiar with our    business and those issues critical to the success thereof. Pan African will continue delivering value to shareholders and other stakeholders.”

Loots is a qualified chartered accountant and, prior to joining Pan African, he served as MD of Shanduka Resources.
