Company Announcement - HIDROSTANK has supplied innovative reinforced polypropylene chambers to the expansion works of the Panama CANAL, one of the great engineering feats of the XXI century. In August 2009, the Panama Canal Authority awarded the design and construction of the third set of locks in the Panama Canal to the consortium Grupo Unidos por el Canal, led by Spanish construction giant Sacyr Vallehermoso and Italy's Impregilo, each with a 48 percent stake, and also includes Belgium's Jan de Nul and Panama's CUSA.

The expansion of the Panama Canal will increase by 40% the capacity of transit of goods of existing waterways that link the Atlantic to the Pacific and is part of the integral program to expand the Canal capacity. HIDROSTANK has worked closely with the technicians of the awarded consortium Grupo Unidos por el Canal to define the best solution for the electrical and telecommunications manholes.

This project, the first PANAMA, joins the already performed in Europe, South America, Africa and Asia.
