Name and Location
Gullen Range wind farm (GRWF) project, New South Wales, Australia.

Client
Goldwind Australia, a subsidiary of Goldwind Science & Technology Company.

Project Description
The GRWF will comprise fifty-six 2.5 MW wind turbines and seventeen 1.5 MW wind turbines, representing a total renewable-energy capacity of 165.5 MW.

Within the first six months of operation, when generating at full power, GRWF will produce enough green energy to offset the amount of energy (carbon dioxide equivalent) that was used to manufacture the turbines.

Value
Not stated.

Duration
The project will be completed by mid-2014.

Latest Developments
The final foundation was poured on September 26, which, along with the completion of almost all the on-site roads, means that the civil works are now largely complete.

The switchyard for the project, which connects the project to the TransGrid transmission network, is complete, with the contractors demobilising from the site.

The delivery of the components was extended for a further ten weeks in November.

GRWF is on schedule to complete construction work at the site in June.

Key Contracts and Suppliers
None stated.

On Budget and on Time?
Not stated.
