Supply chain management and fleet services business Super Group announced early this month its implementation of carbon solutions company Greenstone’s carbon management and accounting solution to meas-ure, manage and reduce its environmental impact.
This signals another significant step in Super Group’s drive to improve its environmental perfor-mance across its business.
The carbon accounting soft-ware, Acco2unt, enables the com-pany to identify opportunities to reduce its environmental impacts, set specific targets for business activities or regions and monitor performance over time, ensuring that the associated financial savings are achieved. This will allow it to track and manage the carbon emissions across its three operational divisions, namely supply chain, fleet solutions and dealerships.
“Greenstone’s Acco2unt solu-tion makes the whole process of tracking our emissions quicker, easier and cost effective. We are able to track and monitor our car- bon emissions in each of our divisions and set focused reduc- tion targets. “The software allows us to review the impact of carbon emissions during current oper-ations, and also model and fore-cast emissions for any planned business growth,” said Super Group company secretary Nigel Redford.
Using the Acco2unt solution, the company has measured its baseline carbon footprint for the past two financial years. Travel and transport accounted for 88% of emissions, primarily owing to Super Group’s large fleet of com-pany vehicles.
