Greentelligence’ has been selected as the key theme of the international Hannover Fair 2012, putting the spotlight squarely on green technologies as a central growth driver for industry.

Manufacturers the world over are facing an enormous challenge. To remain competitive in the long term, their products and processes have to be sustainable, environment friendly and efficient. Hannover Fair 2012, which runs from April 23 to 27, will help them rise to this challenge by providing them with a technology platform that offers an unparalleled overview of all the latest industrial innovations designed to facilitate sustainable business development. Ground-breaking solutions will be on show in all major display categories – from automation, energy technologies, industrial supply and subcontracting services through to research and development.

IndustrialGreenTec

IndustrialGreenTec, the latest addition to the Hanover lineup of flagship shows, will represent the full range of environmental technolo- gies along multiple industrial value chains.

Key themes at IndustrialGreenTec will include recycling and environment-friendly waste disposal, water, soil and noise protection technologies; methods for lowering air pollution; approaches to the efficient use of renewable energy and renewable materials; and environmental services – from consulting through to certification.

Metropolitan Solutions
Following its debut at Hannover Fair 2011, which was well received by visitors and exhibi- tors alike, the Metropolitan Solutions exhibition area will be back in 2012 with an expanded format. Globalisation, climate change and the increasing rate of urbanisation are posing huge challenges for cities and major urban centres around the world. The challenges can only be addressed by expanding and modernising infrastructure. According to the experts, the most critical areas include energy, water/waste water and mobility systems as well as climate protection. State-of-the-art solutions in all of these areas will be presented by the companies participating in this year’s Metropolitan Solutions showcase.

Industrial Automation
This fair will also be staged under the Greentelligence banner. The exhibitors at this event will, besides much else, be showcasing solutions for intelligent, energy efficient and environmentally sustainable process and produc- tion automation, with a strong focus on intelli- gent industrial information technology (IT).
This fair a trailblazer for efficient production and process chain efficiency, delivering the intelligent IT solutions needed for manufacturing products in a sustainable way.

Energy and Mobilitec
These fairs are Greentelligence events through and through, dedi- cated, as they are, to themes such as e-mobility, renewable-energy production and the development of high-tech solutions for cleaner production in conventional power stations.

Industrial Supply
To ‘go green’, industrial production needs environmentally sustainable components and mate- rials, and this is where the Industrial Supply fair comes in. As gatekeepers of downstream profitability and environmental performance, the exhibitors from this highly innovative sector are committed to the ongoing efficiency optimisation of energy and material resource use in industrial processes.

Partner Country
The fair organiser, Deutsche Messe, is confi- dent that this partnership will be a boon to many trade relations and, at the same time, will be a major drawcard for exhibitors and trade visitors from around the globe.

As part of its partner country showcase, the Chinese government is planning to run displays on its major energy efficiency projects, focusing on electricity generation, intelligent energy networks and systems, and environment-friendly mobility solutions.
