Name of the Project
Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) natural gas project.

Location
In the C-8 block, off the shore of Mauritania, and in the Saint-Louis Profond block, off the shore of Senegal.

Project Owner/s
bp, Kosmos Energy, Petrosen and Société Mauritanienne Des Hydrocarbures et de Patrimoine Minier.

Project Description
The GTA project will produce gas from an ultradeep-water subsea system, and a midwater floating production, storage and offloading vessel, which will process the gas, removing heavier hydrocarbon components.

The gas will then be transferred to a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility at a nearshore hub on the Mauritania and Senegal maritime border.

The FLNG facility is designed to provide an estimated 2.5-million tonnes of LNG a year on average, with the total gas resources in the field estimated to be about 15-trillion cubic feet.

The joint venture partners are also evaluating potential expansion beyond Phase 1 of up to ten-million tonnes a year in subsequent phases.

Potential Job Creation
Not stated.

Capital Expenditure
Not stated.

Planned Start/End Date
Project execution activities were expected to start in the first quarter of 2019. First gas for the project is expected in 2022.

Latest Developments
Petrofac has been awarded a new contract to provide offshore operations services.

The scope of work encompasses the provision of specialist personnel, plant and equipment to support offshore operations at the floating production storage and offloading and LNG hub, in Mauritania and Senegal.

Key Contracts, Suppliers and Consultants
KBR (front-end engineering design services contract); McDermot (fabrication contract); and Petrofac (offshore operations services).
