Project Description
The project involves the design and construction of segments H and I of the State Highway 99 ring road, also known as the Grand Parkway. It includes the construction of an 85 km stretch of highway spanning Chambers, Harris, Liberty and Montgomery counties. This segment, which is a toll road, will result in the road’s capacity increasing by up to two lanes in each direction between US 59 and I-10, and by four lanes between I-10 and SH 146; all sections will be tolled. The project also includes the relocation of utilities such as oil and gas pipelines. In addition, 74 new bridges will be built as part of the project, and more than 7.5-million cubic metres of earth will be moved. The Grand Parkway will be the longest ring road in the US at 290 km.

Duration
The construction of new lanes and the modernisation of the tolling infrastructure on SH 99 between I-10 and FM 1405 is expected to be completed in six years.
