JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – GoviEx Uranium has filed its mining permit application with the government of Niger for its Madaouela uranium project in the prolific Arlit uranium-mining district of northern Niger.

"Filing the mining permit application is a key step in the mine development process," said GoviEx CEO Daniel Major on Tuesday.

He advised that the Canadian mineral resource company maintained a bullish long-term view for nuclear reactor builds as part of the solution to combat global air pollution, particularly in Asia.

“Madaouela project has the potential to supply the market when market conditions improve," Major added.

GoviEx’s principal objective was to become a significant uranium producer through the continued exploration and development of its Madaouela project and its other uranium properties in Niger.
