As part of Goscor Group, Goscor Lift Truck Company (GLTC) has been providing best practice in industrial warehousing equipment solutions for the last 30 years. This has resulted in GLTC – which is 70%-owned by diversified industrial services and retail group Imperial – becoming one of the leading industrial warehousing equipment suppliers in the materials handling industry in South Africa.
GLTC, which was established in 1984, operates from a head office at 7 Neutron road, Chloorkop Ext 1, Johannesburg, and has fully equipped branches strategically located in all major centres, including KwaZulu-Natal, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. It is also looking to expand to Botswana.
The company employs 259 people and has a local site area of 4 534.39 m2. It is currently in the construction phase of a new facility in Johannesburg.
GLTC focuses on a wide variety of brands, with different products in each brand, including 1.5 t to 25 t trucks from Doosan; reach trucks, pallet trucks, rider pallet trucks, stackers, turret trucks, order pickers, pedestrian stackers, wave and counterbalance trucks from Crown; and very narrow aisle articulated trucks from Bendi and specialised long loads from Hubtex. To keep up with the growth in sales of machines, GLTC has implemented changes in its parts department, and is continuously improving on their service.
The company, which is South African Bureau of Standards certi- fied, is also in the process of becoming compliant with ISO 9001.
Recently, GTLC was contracted to supply eight specialised Crown lift trucks to food producer Merlog Foods’ state-of-the-art 11 300-pallet fully automated bulk cold store in Heriotdale, Germiston.
