Electronics and maintenance products distributor Electrocom-ponents’ trading brands RS Components and Allied Electronics have signed an agree- ment authorising both companies to act as global distribution partners of Japanese semiconduc-tor manufacturer ROHM, which will broaden the selection of ROHM parts.

RS and Allied will distribute ROHM parts, including dis-crete semiconductors, power management integrated circuits (ICs), light-emitting diodes, display drivers, optical switches, video and audio processor circuits and sensor devices.

These components are used in a significant number of automotive, telecommunication, computer and consumer applications.

ROHM Euro-American sales director Masaki Sakai says sourcing and buying ICs for complex designs is time consuming for engineers and buyers, owing to the large range of devices on the market.

“Bringing RS Components and Allied Electronics on board as authorised distribution partners will ease and accelerate this process, giving customers online access to more of our devices and enabling us to respond more efficiently to growing demand,” he states.

RS Components global head of semiconductors Jonathan Boxall says consolidating relationships with suppliers such as ROHM is an increasingly important consid-eration in the company’s goal to maintain high levels of product availability for customers and to anticipate their future needs.
