Project Description
The project proposes the construction of an estimated  2 100 km, large diameter gas pipeline along the east coast of Mozambique, for the distribution of gas from the Rovuma basin, in northern Mozambique, to Maputo and possibly to the east coast of South Africa.

Value
The cost of the pipeline project has been estimated at around $3-billion dollars and about $5-million will be spent on the detailed feasibility studies.

Duration
If approved by government, construction on Gasnosu will begin in 2016 and be operational by 2018.

Latest Developments
Gigajoule and ENH have signed a memorandum of understanding that establishes the basis of a joint study and, if feasible, the construction of the pipeline from Cabo Delgado to Maputo and regional markets.

The study should be ready for presentation to the Mozambican government by mid-2014.
