Company Announcement - Fortinet® a global leader in high performance cyber security solutions, today announced that it will be present at IDC CIO Summit 2016 taking place in Abu Dhabi, at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers on February 17 and 18, 2016. The summit will bring together CIOs and senior ICT professionals to gain, and share, insights based on real-world experiences relating to critical business and technology issues.

“There are about 3.2-billion internet users, 1.3-billion active smartphone users, and some 3-billion new devices that will make their way to the market by 2020, and this will result in a dramatic increase in cyber threats. Standard approaches to security are no longer effective, and businesses need to look beyond complexity, compliance and best-of-breed solutions,” said Nader Baghdadi, Regional Enterprise Director –South Gulf & Pakistan at Fortinet. “Over the years companies offering security solutions have evolved from security software with networking features added in the background or networking with security bolted on. Both approaches were the classic examples of a square peg in a round hole - it could work but it is not the ideal solution. Fortinet was built from the ground up to brings these two worlds together seamlessly; to make sure that the network’s security layer was fully integrated into the network infrastructure layer, eliminating the gaps and handoffs that traditionally existed between them.”

Nader Baghdadi will be part of a panel discussion on February 16 at 7pm where he will talk further on ‘Security without compromise'. He will discuss the changing nature of networks, and the subsequent increase in potential attack vectors. He will also present advice on what businesses should pay attention to while deploying security strategies.

“What was the boundary of networks yesterday no longer exists today. The solution starts with changing the way that organisations looks at security. Security must be comprehensive, and intelligent, with zero trade-offs in network performance. Legacy security approaches have gotten too complex and network traffic has become unmanageable, resulting in too many alerts, and not enough clarity on what is important,” added Baghdadi.

Fortinet will also have its dedicated presence on stand 21 at the summit's Exhibit booth to showcase its FortiGuard Security Services, and will conduct a workshop focused on security solutions to meet the demands of the public sector.

During the entire event, Nader Baghdadi, Regional Enterprise Director –South Gulf & Pakistan at Fortinet  will be available to discuss the industry trends, the company’s market vision as well as Fortinet’s business strategy in the Middle East.
