Ferrexpo pellet production down owing to maintenance

JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Baar, Switzerland-headquartered Ferrexpo produced 2.49-million tonnes of iron-ore pellets in third quarter, down 1.7% on the 2.54-million tonnes in the second quarter, in line with ongoing pellet line maintenance.

Production for the first nine months of the year was 7.65-million tonnes, compared with 8.33-million tonnes in the same period of 2016.

Ferrexpo has mining and processing operations in Kazakhstan and is the world’s third-largest pellet exporter to the global steel industry.
