Mosima Ginny, a 30 year old mother of 3 and Level 4 Qualified Diesel Mechanic has proven that the Goscor Cleaning service department is no longer just a man’s’ world. Ginny is an inspiration to more than just the technical industry and Goscor Cleaning Equipment is proud to have her as part of the family providing the expert care and detail to every machine that enters her mechanic bay.

Her career started out at Anglo Platinum mines where she was doing geological sampling which gave her the taste of allowing herself to choose path’s that were typically unconventional for women. In 2009 Mosima was then offered an apprenticeship with Barloworld where she completed her Auto and Service Mechanic Certificate by 2013. Having gotten the taste for being technical and working with her hands she then moved onto Toyota where she completed her Level’s and became a Level 4 Qualified Diesel Mechanic through Ekurhuleni Kempton College.

“Change is hard, people can be stubborn and it takes patience and persistence to try change people’s perceptions of you as a women working in a male dominated industry” says Ginny. “Sometimes I am underestimated and more often judged, but this is their flaw as it allows me to push my own boundaries, to fight back and better myself, to learn. This makes me a force to be reckoned with”

Her biggest supporter is her mom, who has always encouraged her dreams.  Being the daughter of a strong women, it gave her the commitment to pursue her passion and talent for all things mechanical. As a mother of a little girl, she hopes to encourage her daughter to follow her dreams, no matter which path that may be. It’s a positive message for the next young female generation who wish to pursue careers in technical industries. You don’t have to act like a man to succeed in a technical field, but take notes from their experience.

“Mosima has demonstrated time and time again that she can handle any issue on any customer's machine that rolls through the workshop doors. We are extremely proud to have on board one of the few female technicians in the country and look forward to her continued success here at Goscor Cleaning Equipment” says Greg Venter.
