ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems  (0.22 MB)

Besam door systems from ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems are operating seamlessly at the head office and three franchises of one of South Africa’s largest fast food companies. Following the first installation of a Besam Unislide bi-parting operator at the Johannesburg head office, the company placed an additional two orders for the installation of entrance and exit door systems at its Kathu and Krugersdorp franchises.

A team of qualified technicians from ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems travelled to Kathu to assist with the installation of the Besam SL 500 bi-parting sliding door system. The same door system was also installed at the Krugersdorp fast food outlet situated in the Key West shopping centre on Johannesburg’s West Rand.

Following yet another order from the same fast food company, ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems teamed up with Alumnispec Glass & Aluminium to complete the latest installation in the Midrand, Gauteng, franchise.

According to ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems South Africa’s Managing Director, André Aiton, the environmentally friendly Besam sliding door systems are preferred entrance and exit solutions for a number of fast food outlets due to their multi-features and state-of-the-art technology. He also points out that the system delivers excellent benefits for both the franchise as well as for its customers. The doors offer excellent return on investment for customers as they are designed for continuous operation to take high pedestrian volumes while offering extended service life. In addition, by maintaining the internal climate, the doors help to reduce the air conditioning’s electricity consumption. Excellent security levels, convenience and aesthetics are further benefits offered by the Besam door system.

Security forms an important aspect of the door system. The Besam SL500’s locking devices and operation mode selector can be tailored to meet bespoke security needs during opening as well as closing hours. The security level can be selected by adding extra features such as the addition of an electric lock for extra security. Furthermore, all sliding door operators are linked to the fire alarm system to facilitate safe evacuation.

The versatile Besam bi-parting door system’s sensors can be switched to an option of the user’s choice. The doors can for example be set to automatic for normal door operation to allow two-way traffic while the one-way setting allows passage from the inside only. The doors can also be set to remain permanently open or closed while the auto-partial setting allows for partial opening during two-way traffic.

From the customer’s perspective, the pedestrian-friendly doors are convenient and aesthetically pleasing; they keep the wind out, maintain a comfortable internal temperature, and offer a high degree of safety.

The Key West outlet enjoys the benefits of the ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems Maintenance programs’ Pro-Active Bronze package. This includes two free maintenance visits per annum, 24 hour response time as well as a 10% discount on extra call outs, labour and spares. The flexible 12 month contract can be conveniently extended each year.

From manufacture to service, exceptional quality is the hallmark of the ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems range. The Besam SL500 bi-parting doors carry a 12 month warranty which commences from delivery day. Regular service inspections are conducted by highly trained qualified technicians to ensure optimum operation.
