Esor restructures board
Civil construction and engineering group Esor on Friday announced that it had implemented the long-planned restructuring of its executive board as was first announced on June 27.
In terms of the restructure, current CFO Wessel van Zyl had been appointed CEO with effect from September 1, replacing current CEO Bernie Krone, who would take up the position of nonexecutive chairperson.
Van Zyl would continue to serve as CFO, in addition to his responsibilities as CEO, until a suitable replacement was found.
Further, independent nonexecutive chairperson Dave Thompson and independent nonexecutive director Dr Franklin Sonn had retired, effective August 21.
Thompson, Sonn and Ethan Dube had also retired from the company’s audit committee.
Sonn and Thompson would be replaced on the board by Heather Sonn and Eugene Erasmus, who would serve on the audit committee.
Heather Sonn would assume the position of chairperson of the audit committee, succeeding Dr Oswald Franks who would remain a committee member.
