Energy company Blessing Petroleum has been appointed the official distributor of African multinational Engen Petroleum’s full range of lubricants in Cameroon as of mid-December 2011.
Engen manufactures a range of lubricants under the Engen brand and blends and fills lubricants under licence for parent company Petronas’s lubricants division and oil and gas company ExxonMobil.
The lubricants range to which Blessing Petroleum now has access includes Engen’s automotive oils for petrol and diesel engines, universal tractor oils, gear and transmission oils, indus- trial oils, marine oils, greases and utility products such as brake fluids.
Engen Petroleum international business development manager Kamil de Villiers notes that Engen has, over the years, built up globally competitive product development expertise through the relationships its parent company, Petronas, has with global original-equipment manufacturers in the automotive sector.
In addition, it has acquired extensive regional knowledge in the development of product lines that can withstand the harsh African operating conditions.
“With this arrangement, we undertake to bring a full range of our products suitable for local conditions to Cameroon.
“Blessing Petroleum was appointed as our partner because of its outstanding reputation, extensive lubricants knowledge in management and its passion and commitment to developing the Engen brand,” he says.
“As a young and growing Cameroonian company, Blessing Petroleum is proud and honoured to have been appointed,” states Blessing Petroleum MD Paul Dengoue.
He adds that the opportunity will allow the energy company to confirm its status as a professional and agile team that is able to offer a full range of products, fuels and now lubricants to meet local cus- tomers’ needs.
Blessing Petroleum operates an expanding network of retail sites in Cameroon. The company has a strong local market position in the supply of fuels to the commercial stream. Its head office is based in Douala with representation in Yaounde, Limbé, Buea and Bafoussam.
