Engen, South Africa’s leading petroleum brand*, and football partners SuperSport United will continue with their drive to inspire the country’s youth by hosting a coaching clinic at Brebner High School in Bloemfontein.
The coaching is set to start at 11h00 on Friday, 09 February 2018. SuperSport United Academy coaches, headed by the club’s current under-17 coach, Ricardo Katza will lead the coaching clinics. The Matsatsantsa delegation will also include the club’s chief scout, Godfrey Mosoetsa.
At the clinic, South African football legend and official SuperSport United football ambassador and former Bafana Bafana star defender, Katza will address the participants encouraging them to pursue their dreams academically as well as on the sports field.
Football coaches from schools in the area are encouraged to attend the coaching clinic and engage with the SuperSport United coaches about coaching techniques and the development of young players. Engen representative Brad Bergh says the initiative underlines Engen’s commitment to providing a platform for youngsters to improve on their present skill set in the sport. “We believe that by providing skills development for the local community we will see it one-day produce players who participate in the prestigious Engen Knockout Challenge.”
Bergh says Engen is delighted to be a part of the development of football players at grassroots level.
“Engen’s cares about the communities in which it operates and strongly believes in the power of football to uplift and inspire the youth of Bloemfontein.”
