Project Description
The project involves the construction of a school to accommodate 1 200 learners.

Teaching facilities will comprise 33 standard classrooms, two multipurpose classrooms and a media laboratory.

The complex will also have a hall with toilet facilities, an administrative building, caretaker facilities and a sports field.

Jobs to be Created
About 80 people living within 5 km of the construction site are employed on the project. Workers are also benefiting from on-site training.

The project is valued at R60-million.

Duration
Construction started in June 2016 and is expected to be completed in October.

Latest Developments
The classrooms and administrative buildings are currently under construction.

Phase 2 will start in mid-2017. This will include external works, landscaping and sports fields and the construction of the school hall.
