eDART, South Africa’s specialist slurry valve manufacturer and Afrivalve have joined forces in order to offer a greater range of valves suited to the mining, heavy industry, water and power industries. “We are better placed as a collective to service the valve requirements of these industries which will enable customers to source their products from a ‘one-stop-shop’ facility” said Greg Hopton, Group Marketing Manager for Afrivalve who will be representing all the eDART brands.

“A key complaint from project houses is the scattered source of supply for the wide range of valve technologies needed, making it also a cumbersome exercise for valve manufacturers to meet all the specifications on large contracts from one source. Due to the synergy between eDART and Afrivalve, it made complete sense to refine and streamline our operations in order to meet the demand for quality valve products to the project houses and our joint customer base” said Hopton.

“As a result” continued Hopton “we will be moving into our new premises in Kya Sands, Johannesburg. We hope to relocate to the new facility early in 2017 and the premises will encompass over 2,500 square metres of factory and office space.”

eDART was established in 2004 and is a market leader in the manufacture of specialist slurry control valves and associated specialist equipment to the mining and related

industries. C-Tech knife gate valves, manufactured 100% locally in South Africa by eDART, are well suited to the challenges that our customers face with their complex and demanding applications.  Hopton said “ eDART’s C-tech valve, formerly known as the Controltech knife gate valve, has been on the market for many years and has been sold successfully into many mining and industrial applications.

When eDART took over the local production of the valve, many engineered improvements were made to the valve in order to keep it in line with the demanding applications that it’s applied in. A lot of the valve modifications were derived from both seeing where customers had challenges as well as requests from customers who knew what they needed.”

Afrivalve, which was launched in 2015, will be responsible for the promotion of all the eDART range of products which includes C-Tech valves (which have been successfully installed in mining and industrial applications in South Africa, Botswana, Zambia the DRC and Namibia.

Their industrial applications range from carbon manufacturing to animal feeds whilst mining applications include the zinc, coal, copper, gold, platinum and diamond industries. eDART slurry valves, LA actuators and Red Roc pinch valves are engineered specifically for use with tough slurries, dry and wet abrasives and corrosive chemical applications.

For projects across a variety of industrial sectors, Afrivalve offers a range of gate, globe, check, ball, butterfly, non-return, diaphragm and plug valves. The valves are available in both metallic and thermoplastic variants.

The eDART Project Division will continue to offer engineered solutions for slurry control valve applications from their Jet Park factory.
