Dublin Array offshore wind farm.

Location
On the Kish bank and Bray bank, about 10 km off the coast of South County Dublin and Wicklow, in Ireland.

Project Owner/s
The project is a partnership between RWE Renewables and Saorgus Energy.

Project Description
The proposed project will comprise between 45 and 61 wind turbines capable of generating between 600 MW and 900 ME of clean, renewable energy.

Dublin Array has the potential to reduce Ireland’s carbon emissions by 1.5-million tonnes a year and to significantly reduce the State’s use of imported fossil gas.

The proposed wind farm will produce enough energy to supply up to 840 000 homes at peak production.

Potential Job Creation
The project will create hundreds of jobs during the construction phase, as well as several permanent skilled roles during the planning and operational phases.

Capital Expenditure
About €1-billion.

Planned Start/End Date
Subject to the project’s receiving several consenting milestones, the start of construction is expected in 2025, with a potential two-year construction period.

Latest Developments
The final decision on the project envelope – the size and number of turbines – has not yet been made.

There are several ongoing survey activities that will continue up to, during and after construction.
