Company Announcement - Dormer Pramet has established a strong foundation for the future after a productive first 12 months following its creation last year. The global company was founded in 2014 following the merger of round tools manufacturer Dormer Tools and cemented carbide tooling specialist Pramet Tools. It now aims to become the leading supplier of cutting tools and support services to the general engineering sector, with a comprehensive assortment of fit for purpose tools for drilling, milling, turning and threading applications.

With its combined rotary and indexable product offer now in place, Dormer Pramet is aiming to grow its market share significantly during the coming years. To support its ambitions, Dormer Pramet will showcase its new look at EMO Milan (October 5-10) - the first time both product ranges will be on display together at the event.   The company arrives at EMO following a period of intense activity and numerous significant developments. These include amalgamating 1,500 employees and numerous departments across offices in 30 countries, five training centres, five distribution facilities and three production units. Earlier this year, Dormer Pramet announced its first joint product launch involving both indexable and rotary tooling. All company launches will now take place twice a year (April and November).

Also, new services have been put in place to enhance customer experience, including a joint website, several digital apps, improved product literature and consolidated email contacts. Further support material, such as a new technical handbook and customer training packages will be announced soon. Dormer Pramet President Fabrizio Resmini says the company is now well placed to grow its presence in key markets following the merger.  He said: “We are pleased with the way the organisation has come together, not just from a product perspective, but also on a logistics and personnel level. “This includes launching our Pramet indexable range in North America, South America, Benelux, UK, China, India and South East Asia, while enhancing the presence of Dormer’s rotary products in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and Germany.

“It is testament to the dedication and hard work of our employees, as well as the strong relationship we have with our customers, that we have been able to achieve so much in a short period of time. There is still more to do, but we have built a solid platform for future growth. “During the year we have showcased our rotary and indexable product offer at various exhibitions around the world. At all these shows customers have told us how impressed they are with the variety and scope of the combined ranges now at their disposal. “EMO in Milan will be another fantastic opportunity for us to demonstrate how we can support the general engineering sector to meet their machining challenges.”

Dormer Pramet will be in Hall 6 on stand G08-H09 at EMO Milan. For more information visit www.dormerpramet.com or contact your local Dormer Pramet sales office.
