The new air-strip corresponds to the international standards, is capable to accept all kinds of planes, in particular "Aerobus-380" and «the Boeing 747». By estimations of experts air-strip of the Donetsk airport will be the modernest in Ukraine and one of the best in Europe. It's length is 4 kilometers, width – 75 meters, a thickness – 1 meter. Heavy-duty concrete of mark М-450 is used. It is laid 650 thousand cubic meter of concrete and 700 tons of armature, 550 000 square meters of coverings are executed. Marks: ПЦМ-80. A meteominimum category – 3 (the Meteorological minimum (a meteominimum) in aircraft — the minimum values of height of the bottom border of clouds and horizontal visibility at which performance of launches, landings and flights on a route is possible).
