Company Announcement - DMCC, the authority on trade, enterprise and commodities in Dubai, and master developer of the Burj2020 District, will make its Cityscape debut at the 2015 Cityscape Global Conference, being held in Dubai from 8 to 10 September.

Cityscape Global visitors will be introduced to the Burj2020 District, the new heart of global business, through ‘Burj2020 Vision’ an experiential journey screened at DMCC’s stand A10, Hall 2, Dubai World Trade Centre. In addition, a three-dimensional interactive multimedia map will offer visitors a unique opportunity to view the Emirate’s new growth corridor from its southern gateway.

The master planned Burj2020 District will be a vibrant new destination for business that delivers the perfect balance of premium commercial, retail, hospitality and residential space, all set within a thriving urban landscape. The district, which will include a total of seven towers, will have over 1 million square meters of built up area (BUA), and incorporate the latest thinking around multi-functional urban environments and cater to the evolving and future needs of business.  The centrepiece of the Burj2020 District will be the Burj2020, a super tall commercial tower being designed by renowned global architects Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill (AS+GG).

Adrian and Gordon, who were the architects for Kingdom Tower in Saudi Arabia, will be on the DMCC stand, during the opening morning, to discuss the philosophy behind the bold design of DMCC’s ambitious Burj2020. Adrian was also the architect of Burj Khalifa, whilst working with SOM and before establishing AS+GG.

Adrian Smith, Partner, AS+GG said:
“The UAE is charting unprecedented territory in terms of the creativity, originality, and pace of tall and supertall tower design and development. Dubai is really at the cutting edge in this space, with the eyes of the world firmly set on what the Emirate will come up with next.”

Gordon Gill, Partner, AS+GG said:
“Excellence in tower design is about much more than achieving record heights. The ‘Burj2020’ is the direct result of a considered design process in which form follows performance. This means that core concepts such as the efficient use of space, integration of smart technology, community interaction and sustainability drive the design; thereby enabling the final structure to succeed in inspiring people and enabling communities to achieve more.”

Gautam Sashittal, Chief Executive Officer, DMCC, said:
“DMCC has witnessed strong growth over the past few years, becoming a major international hub for trade and enterprise. There is a continued surge in demand for prime commercial real estate from new and current members, especially for office space with larger and efficient floor plates. The Burj2020 District, a premium development combining the latest thinking in urban planning and workplace environments, will add much needed space whilst also benefiting from the popular mixed-used community within the DMCC Free Zone.”

By offering a new, premium address for the global business community, the ‘Burj2020 District’ will provide the ideal location for leading businesses to benefit from the established marketplace that already exists in the DMCC Free Zone. Today the DMCC Free Zone consists of 66 towers including Almas Tower, already one of the region tallest commercial towers.
