Exclusive local supplier for Italian centrifugal and submersible pumps and motors manufacturer SAER Electropompe, National Rotating Equipment has introduced a range of new products.
“We initially started supplying SAER products in 2006. Saer was represented in South Africa previously and we were given an exclusive distributorship for Africa last year,” says National Rotating Equipment MD Wayne Howat.
He adds that one of the new products developed by SAER is a booster system, which has the ability to boost water pressure regardless of flow required. “We can cater for any flow rate and pressure that a customer may require of these types of pressure boosting systems,” says Howat.
The system is ideally suited to the building industry, as the system can be used to boost water supply to buildings and residential developments. Howat explains: “When building complexes and high-rise buildings, you lose pressure from the municipal supply and the pressure inside the complex or building is significantly reduced as the elevation increases. The booster system takes care of this by regulating the speed of the pump to compensate for the water demand required by the tenants.”
The equipment reduces damage caused by water hammer from the conventional mechanical direct on-line systems when pumps start at full speed and shut down from full speed.
“The system can be used from the smallest single- house applications to multi- room hotel complexes or buildings. These products were introduced to the South African market at the end of last year,” says Howat.
In addition, he says that another new product range that has been developed by SAER is the MK series of in-line vertical multistage pumps. There are 93 models in this range, which is entirely manufactured in Italy. The range starts from 0,55-kW units to 30-kW units, and the units can pump up to 40 m3/h.
SAER has been manufacturing pumps for over 50 years. It manufac- tures about 3 000 pumps a day from a range of 600 different types of pumps in its manufacturing range. It is repre- sented in over 120 countries worldwide.
SAER has six plants manufacturing pumps and motors, of which two plants are dedicated to manufacturing submersible motors. Also, one of the divisions is especially dedicated to the manufacture of submersible motors for the offshore business.
The manufacturer offers a range of motors of up to 300 kW.
Further, its centrifugal pumps range from 0,25 hp up to 400 hp, which cover domestic, agriculture, commercial and industrial pumps. SAER has also started a new division, which manufactures pressure group systems, including end- suction pumps, self-priming pumps, monobloc pumps, and stub shaft pumps, besides others.
The end-suction pumps are offered in stainless steel 316, marine grade bronze and cast iron. All pumps are tested in-house with all the certifications required by the customer.
