Information and communication technology (ICT) group Datatec’s Logicalis subsidiary has moved to buy out US-based Advanced Technology Integration Group (ATIG) for $42-million from MCPc.

The conditional acquisition of the system integration and professional services solution provider would see Logicalis branch out further into key Midwest regions and present cross-selling opportunities for its services offering.

“ATIG adds significant scale to Logicalis’ presence in the Midwest and is central to the consolidation of our position in that market. It also strengthens strategic relationships with key vendor partners Cisco, VMWare and HP and broadens our services scope into a new customer group,” Datatec CEO Jens Montanana said in an update to shareholders.

ATIG, which employed over 100 skilled staff across 14 offices, posted revenue of $133-million for the year to December 2014, providing enterprise networking, data centre, unified communications, cloud and managed services solutions to a range of vertical markets including healthcare, state and local government and education.

The acquisition remained subject to a number of closing conditions and was expected to become effective in September.
