Project Description
The project aims to demonstrate CCS technology. Its focus is on capturing carbon dioxide (CO₂) from the Millmerran coal-fired power station and permanently storing it deep underground in a dedicated storage site 100 km from the power station.

CTSCo has the potential to store significant volumes of CO₂ to reduce existing and future sources of industrial emissions.

Potential Job Creation
The project is expected to maintain and create jobs in regional Queensland.

Capital Expenditure
Long-term joint venture partners in Glencore’s mining operations in Australia,Marubeni Corporation and Electric Power Development Co, will each invest A$10-million in the project.

Planned Start/End Date
The project is working towards starting CO₂ injection in 2025.
