Company Announcement - Environment and incentives experts Cova Advisory and Associates has boosted its campaign for sustainability, by relocating to a new Green Building in the Waterfall Estate, North of Johannesburg. This meets the twin requirements of demonstrating the company’s commitment to the environment and providing new workspace for Cova’s growing team of experts.
“It is a five-star green-rated building, which is energy efficient,” said Cova co-founder Duane Newman. “It offers a 73% reduction in water consumption when compared to a similar building, as well as giving us a significant energy saving. ‘We are already empowered, and now we are leading the way on sustainability as well.” Cova Advisory helps clients to curb their carbon footprint, and is one of very few accredited South African firms to offer services such as energy efficiency audits. It also provides an array of other advisory services, including expert guidance on government investment incentives.
“Our new offices are in the Golder House Building in the Maxwell Office Park, which is part of the new Waterfall Development” said Tumelo Chipfupa, Cova’s other co-founder. “There is as much use as possible of natural light, as well as lighting and occupancy sensors. “Water use is also an important issue, and the new building has an array of measures to curb water use, as well as a water harvesting set-up.
“The sustainability theme is carried through even to building’s paint, furniture, cleaning materials, carpets and blinds.” As well as selecting a new Green building for its offices, Cova Advisory has undertaken other sustainability initiatives, including tree planting.
“It is always easier to advise others when you are leading by example,” said Chipfupa.
