Project Description
Modification of the current CGL#1 furnace will enable Steel Dynamics Columbus to produce advanced high-strength steels for the automotive industry.

The project includes the engineering and delivery of a new direct-fired furnace, new differential rapid jet cooling, and after pot coolers for the CGL #1 furnace.

It also includes the supply of model-predictive advanced furnace control for the complete furnace sections, as well as the automation and electrical equipment, and the supervision of erection and commissioning.
