Company Announcement: New Finance Director for Imperial Holdings

The board of IMPERIAL Holdings is pleased to welcome Mr Osman Suluman Arbee as Finance Director of the IMPERIAL group, with effect from 1 July 2013. His appointment was officially announced last year. Mr Arbee takes over from Mr Hafiz Mahomed who is retiring after 31 years in the group. He joined the group as financial manager in 1982 and was appointed to the board in March 1992. Hafiz, will however, remain in the employ of the group until the end of 2013 in order to ensure a seamless handover of his responsibilities. Hubert Brody, CEO of IMPERIAL Holdings welcomed Osman to the Board, saying, “Osman has developed a strong understanding of the various divisions within IMPERIAL and has most recently been CEO of the Car Rental division and Chairman of the Tourism, Motor Dealership and Automotive Parts Distribution divisions. We are delighted to see the next generation of management rising up through our ranks and to have been able to make this appointment from within the group.”
Osman Arbee who is 54 years old, holds a B Acc CA (SA). Prior to joining IMPERIAL in 2004, he worked for Deloitte & Touche for 23 years rising from the position of an articled clerk to Partner. Hubert Brody, CEO of IMPERIAL Holdingsadded, “I would like to thank Hafiz Mahomed for his outstanding and loyal service to IMPERIAL over the past three decades. The board, management team and all Hafiz’ colleagues, wish him a healthy, relaxing and happy retirement.”
