Basil Read Matomo  (0.11 MB)

Basil Read Matomo, subsidiary of Basil Read, the JSE-listed construction, mining, development and engineering group, today announced the opening of a new office in Cape Town. The new office will accommodate the South African business development strategy within the group’s power generation division. Renewable energy projects will be the primary focus in support of the EPC services required by developers for their South African projects. In November 2011, Basil Read, through its EPC subsidiary Basil Read Matomo (BRM), was awarded the EPC contract for the full turnkey implementation of the Van Staden’s Metrowind Farm in the Eastern Cape and continues to be actively involved in future rounds of the Department of Energy’s REIPPP programme. Marius von Wielligh, Director of Energy at Basil Read Matomo stated that, “Cape Town has developed as one of the renewable energy hubs of the country and a presence in the city will allow BRM to develop closer relationships with both equipment suppliers and project developers, as we grow our local and African renewable energy project portfolio”.
