Old Mutual Investment Group Property Investments has appointed Amelia Beattie as chief operating officer from September 1. Currently regional general manager for the Western Cape and Namibia, she will succeed Neil Nothard who has been appointed chief financial officer of Marriott Income Specialists, also part of Old Mutual Investment Group.

Amelia Beattie is chairman of the Cape Town chapter of Women’s Property Network, a member of the network’s national executive, a councillor of the Western Cape branch of the SA Property Owners’ Association and a board member of the Cape Town City Improvement District.

The mother of three daughters, she joined Old Mutual’s property investment business as financial controller at Riverside Mall, Nelspruit, in 1999. In August 2001 she was appointed retail portfolio financial manager before becoming retail portfolio manager in January 2004, and in January 2005, retail asset manager. As chief operating officer, she will report to Ben Kodisang, managing director of Old Mutual Investment Group Property Investments, and serve on the organisation’s executive committee.
